A message from the Associate Advisor in General Practice

I am the Associate Director in General Practice for the Basingstoke Area, combining this role with that of a GP at The Old Orchard Surgery, Wilton, near Salisbury.

Although having other tasks, my main job is supervising General Practice training on the patch - from appointment to the Vocational Training Scheme, through monitoring the suitability of the hospital jobs and the SHO's performance during their hospital years, as well as approving training practices and Trainers and assessing the standards of training and GP Registrars locally. I therefore tend to pop up, unexpectedly, all over the place and wearing all sorts of different hats!

Most difficulties/queries you will encounter in your General Practice training will be sorted out by either your Trainer, Scheme Organiser or hospital Clinical Tutor, but please contact me if you feel I can help. To get hold of me ring:
